Amazon Echo Show 8 2nd Generation Specs

The Amazon Echo Show 8 2nd Generation has an improved 13 Megapixel camera, which is a significant improvement over the previous model. Amazon has also included an auto-framing feature on the new Echo Show 8 model, which allows the device to automatically pan and zoom to adjust the frame during video calls.

The device is available in 2 colors i.e white and black.

The Amazon Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen) is available for purchase on Amazon, with customers able to bundle the device with a smart bulb for Rs. 100 or a smart plug for TVs and chargers for Rs. 599.

Price

The Amazon Echo Show 8 2nd Generation price in India is Rs. 13,999. However, for a limited time, Amazon is selling the device at a discounted price of Rs. 11,499. The Echo Show 8 (2nd Generation) is available in black and white, just like the original Echo Show 8.

The Amazon Echo Show 8 2nd Generation has the same 8-inch adaptive color display with a resolution of 1,280×800 pixels as the first-generation Echo Show 8. You’ll also get the same 2-inch neodymium stereo speakers and passive radiator found on the previous model.

The biggest difference between the Echo Show 8 (2nd Generation) and the previous-generation model is the 13-megapixel camera. This camera has significantly more megapixels than the older Echo Show 8 1st generation 1 Megapixel Camera.

Many users complained about the camera as it was too outdated for a new generation device. You can also use the camera to monitor your home.

Like the Echo Show 10, the new camera sensor supports Amazon’s auto-framing feature, which enables automatic pan and zoom.

Amazon has also included an upgraded, octa-core MediaTek MT8183 processor on the Echo Show 8 2nd Generation to provide faster performance than the first-generation Echo Show 8 model, which featured a quad-core MediaTek MT8163 SoC.

On the downside, the new Echo Show 8 lacks the 3.5mm jack found on the older model, which allows you to connect your phone or other devices via an aux cable.

You can, however, connect via Bluetooth to listen to your favorite music.

Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) support is available to stream audio between your mobile device and the Echo Show 8, as well as to enable audio streaming to a Bluetooth speaker.

The Echo Show 8 2nd Generation can play music from Web services such as Amazon Prime Music, Apple Music, Gaana, Hungama, JioSaavn, and Spotify in addition to songs from your phone. You can also request that Alexa play your favorite movies or TV shows from Amazon Prime Video or Netflix.

Alexa can also make hands-free video calls and control any of your smart home devices that are compatible. Furthermore, the Echo Show 8 2nd Generation allows you to remotely monitor your home and view live video feeds from its built-in camera on your smartphone or other Echo Show devices.

The Echo Show 8 2nd Generation can also serve as a digital frame in your home, displaying photos from Facebook. When not in use, you can close the camera sensor of the Echo Show 8 2nd Generation with the built-in physical cover and turn off the microphone with a single button press.
